Since he is still reminding us of Christmas, I will post the rest of our holiday happenings. Taylin still tells about her Christmas morning. I guess it was just a month ago. We still have our tree on the back porch. I guess we will have to start giving it water again...maybe put some heart decor on it.
PART ONE:
We went to Georgetown for a Christmas parade, Whoville fun and Santa of course!

Taylin was anxious to do the wall climb. She was brave. She met the height and weight requirements...just barely. The notches (not so technical term) were a bit too far apart for her to reach at times. She decided to come down a little early, but wasn't "falling" because of her light weight. Just hanging until the worker could just grab her toe and start pulling her down.
The magician. Taylin raised her hand to volunteer. The Magician only needed two and was pointing to the girl right behind her, but Taylin had no clue and confidently went up. He had one extra volunteer this round. The kids enjoyed the tricks. Taylin helped turn the coal into a diamond. She was a little shy, but followed the directions.

There were more shows throughout the day, but we went to see what else was going on in Whoville.
We did more of the Whoville activities: bouncing, hay rides, dancers and candy canes.

Daddy smiling for Cohen's photography. Cohen loves to get shots displaying people holding random items.

Watching the dancers.

Cute moment! (Not sure who the fourth child is. A friend Taylin made just moments before the show. I don't even think they were intending on stopping to watch, but Taylin invited him. I guess they stayed out of kindness.)
Off to wait for Santa. There was a pretty good line. A band and choir were performing around us. David and I also took turns taking the kids to decorate cookies and get hot chocolate while we waited. I don't ever take the kids to stand in line for Santa, because I don't want to pay the money for pictures. They let us take our own. It was very worth it. "Elves" waited outside and handed the kids ornaments to put on Santa's Christmas tree. I thought that was a good idea to distract the kids from fears of a large harry man, sometimes known as Santa. Taylin and Cohen went with Santa.

Kennedy was leaning towards a large, harry, and scary man. Taylin smiling away regardless of Kennedy's fears. Cohen shows some concern for his little sister. What a great Santa!
PART TWO:
We also saw Santa at our ward party. The kids each got a chance one-on-one with Santa. I was a little unsure about their familiarity with Santa's "helper" (a friend in the ward, whom they see often). They still told Santa what they wanted for Christmas and how good they were without any question. Their requests stayed the same...although Cohen's was a little less realistic to find.

Cohen's request: a blue dog (each Santa was on top of his game and replied, Blues Clues? Cohen isn't as familiar with Blue's Clues as Taylin. He wanted a real dog that was blue. Santa just put a blue dog clip art on Cohen's gift tags. He didn't seem disappointed with his loot.
The ward party was a hit! We hustled over after David and I ran in the Jingle Bun Fun Run. The food was yummy and there was a fun ward (church) video put together. I thought this was a special event for the families.

Taylin's request: a nativity (there is a story behind that)
PART THREE: Cookie Decorating Christmas Eve

I finally found an icing recipe like my mom made growing up. Yummy! Sweet memories of Rex, Ryan and I sitting on the counter top decorating cookies. I wish I had that picture to post.
Taylin made a house (out of an Angel cut out) for Santa's plate...in addition to her trees and bells.

Cohen loved to pile on the icing...also his favorite part of the cookie.

Everyone enjoyed eating them.

That was Kennedy's main objective.

PART FOUR: CHRISTMAS MORNING
Beginning at 5:30 am. We told the kiddos to get us out of bed before going down to the tree. I awoke to Cohen running to the side of my bed with undies and p.j.s' down to his ankles as he explained to me, "Mom, Santa got Taylin a doll and a nativity." His face saddened, "I didn't get anything." Wow, we must have been robbed, because there was quite a bit more than those two things waiting for them. Maybe that is all he had time to see, since he really got up to go potty and couldn't look anymore. Apparently he woke up to go potty and was distracted by the tree lit down stairs (We keep it dark downstairs, so if there is any light he wants to go see what is happening.). I helped him get dressed and told him we would look at everything when the girls woke up. After realizing he wasn't fast enough to get to the potty and had some wet undies, we changed his underwear and cuddled back in bed until the girls awoke...not until 8am. Wow, we slept in!
Taylin was obedient and came to wake us up first. We got everyone up and I ran down to video them coming down the stairs. Taylin wanted to make sure everyone saw what they got. I was concerned she wasn't excited about her gifts we thought she would love. She adored them after assuring everyone opened their gift. She was most excited for me to open a card she made in church the previous Sunday. What a sweetie!

Santa was kind this year!
Enjoying the gifts and time with each other.

Those are some CUTE kids! And I empathize with the sewing machine in the background!
I did laugh when I realized it made its face in a blog again without any product. I just can't stop sewing long enough to put it away.
Santa is talked about at our house too!
I love the last picture with cohen in the box playing with the toy.
That's so cute that Taylin invited a stranger to sit and watch with your family! She's so sweet! I love the picture of Cohen in the box too. Kids are so fun!
