We received our first bag. Yep, funny they didn't travel together. I did talk with a person (as opposed to the computer voice...good thing she doesn't have feelings. After I have talked with her, she might have a complex, ha!) in Austin who saw our bag and it was the one we don't have tonight. Thank goodness it isn't in London anymore. Unless he was confused.
I wasn't sure which one I would prefer to have first. The one we received is probably good...some of my shoes, all of David's shoes, even the house shoes he has missed dearly, all our hygiene (i.e., shaving, toothbrush, makeup, prescriptions, mouth guard...ouch after a few days of not wearing it). We could have gone out and replaced those things. It would have cost some money, which I was informed today they were nearing the step of giving us money for the total cost.
The second one, which we are still hopeful for, has all the souvenirs that weren't breakable, laundered clothes and other random items that fit in. The souvenirs would/will be (I like the thought of would be...in hopes of seeing it soon) hard to replace. Monetary coverage would have to cover a plane ticket back to Spain to buy the souvenirs. This time I would take the clothes on my back, small hygiene kit, and an ID all in a bag as big as I can fit on carry on with plenty of room left for the souvenirs to come back in...no checking luggage.
I am on the phone now...hoping!

Poor Amanda, that really stinks. I am really hoping that you get to see the other bags again! Good luck!
I'm sorry to here about your luggage. I had that happen to me once on a trip back from Utah. It took us about a week to get all our luggage back. Hopefully your other bag is on its way.
Heather =)
I hope you get your bag soon! That is never fun - we all know from some kind of experience.
Can't wait to see some pictures from your trip!
