Taylin's first haircut...not just a trim!

Since all our kiddos have lots of hair from day one, they have all needed some kind
of trim by the time they are four months old. I haven't recorded any of those as their first haircut. Cohen's was his buzz.





Taylin has been asking for short hair. She told me it would be okay, it will grow back. I had told her that after I chopped all my hair off a little over a year ago to comfort her. She now is comforting me. She also said she wanted it to be fancy like mine. Thanks for the boost Taylin!





I was going in for my haircut, so I decided to make an appointment for her also. I told her she could come and watch me get a haircut and decide for sure. She sat patiently and watched my haircut and then was ready to go without hesitation. Taylin and I discussed donating her hair if she had enough. I had done the same, but I had well over the donation minimum. Pantene takes a minimum of 8 inches. I could handle that. Her donation is about 9 1/2 inches. Our hair stylist was nervous and had never had someone come in for a donation. Her and another lady that were there held their breath the entire pony tail cut. I had to keep my composure as any good mother should. Yes, my heart was pounding, palms sweating and breathing was a little more difficult. It was cut and no problems.


Taylin wanted to hold her hair for a while, but I told her we had to keep it together so we could mail it. Then she started thinking who she should mail it to. She wanted to give it to her cousin, Candyce. I reminded her Candyce just got a haircut and can grow hair. She mentioned a friend, Lily, who also had cut her hair and was trying to grow it out. I told her we could mail it to someone who didn't have hair or couldn't grow hair and they would make a wig. Then she offered it to Grandpa and Pappy. Further explanation was given as to how some people get sick and can't grow hair anymore due to their illness or treatments. She started to understand, or flattered me.






Her's is one of six pony tails that it will take to make someone a wig. She has quickly adjusted and not missed her extra length a bit...yet! I am sure she will be fine and happy with less tangles and brushing. Great for the summer heat...which starts early in Texas, so March is a great time to get ready.
