Teague fits right in with his siblings, yet he has his own way of doing some tasks. He doesn't eat his crust on his sandwiches. Sounds normal. He won't let me cut the crust off. He will refuse the sandwich if I do. He prefers to take care of it himself. Teague will do a better job of getting most of the sandwich than if I cut it off myself. I am not sure what it is. You would think there was a perforated line he was following.
His latest eating tactic is his approach to his pizza. I would cut it into pieces and he would easily eat it. The past few times he showed no interest. His teeth are almost all in and help him devour whatever is in front of him. Not a problem getting him to eat. I tried serving it to him in small slices again instead of pieces. His approach is unique by far. I am not sure how cutting it up was any less appealing. He shaves the toppings and sauce. Then he attacks the crust. He eats it without complaints and is a healthy growing boy, so I won't complain either.
Teague does his best and does pretty good at keeping up with the big kids. He is becoming quite the climber. Hiding the bunk bed ladder doesn't stop him. He can climb into his crib, but not out...yet. He is setting records for the longest to be in his crib and to still be rear facing. If we don't hear him, chances are he is quietly playing with trains or in the bathroom, dunking things.
He slams the lid on the toilet and I come running to make sure there isn't anything of concern ready to travel down the tunnel. We are mostly lucky with just a few toilet paper squares. An occasional toothbrush or toy gets a little dip. He loves a ball of any shape or size. He also loves anything on wheels. Sometimes he chooses to treat the vehicles like a ball which doesn't bode well for anything in its path. He has quite an arm. I love catching him on his tummy rolling his wheels along the floor.
He loves a good read. A few favorites are: "Jungle Babies," "The Foot Book," "Elmer's Friends" and "Mr. Brown Can Moo." One time is never enough. His vocabulary is ever increasing and catches us by surprise at times. He will never be forgotten when unloading the car. He exclaims, "Buckle...unbuckle!!" How can we not get excited for him when he celebrates with, "I did it!" I am a sucker for bedtime books and then as he is fading off he says, "Hand, hand." and reaches out of his crib for mine. I used to give David a hard time for spoiling Kennedy with a similar end to her bedtime routine. I know understand how hard it is to leave after such a request.
