Once a Tornado Warning...always a tornado posibility

Strange title. These pictures are a couple of months old, but I have been reminded of them as of late. A couple of months ago, we had some close calls on tornadoes. We had to take cover. They touched down 10-20 miles away. The kids are good sports. I don't have pictures of the second, because it was 6:15 in the morning, Kennedy and Taylin were pulled out of bed to be safe on the bottom floor. It was a little scary, but we felt safe and prepared...except that our food storage was upstairs!!!! We will have to reorganize and have it in the downstairs closet with us. Oh Food storage, one of our many weaknesses!






My constant reminder. Now that we have educated our children on tornadoes and getting in the closet...every time the wind blows with dark clouds in the sky, it could be a tornado. Yesterday we had to go somewhere, but Patricia (David's sister has been staying with us.) was staying home. I was being silly and said she had to make sure the house didn't blow away. Dumb move! They covered their heads like it was bad weather, nope clear as could be, and started on about tornado preparedness. They don't ever want to leave anyone behind. Today when we left Taylin said, "Piti is going to stay in case there is a tornado." Piti, we would never leave you if there was a tornado...nor would we go out into it. That concept will sink in later.
