O Christmas Tree

This year we "thought" we would cut down our own tree with the help of a Christmas tree farm. We heard about a great place in Salado, TX. It is a nice little town that we hope to visit again. When we arrived at the tree farm, we enjoyed complimentary hot chocolate, apple cider and popcorn while the kids picked out their ornaments for the year.

The kids were delighted to see the dog, Beau...until he scooted toward Kennedy for more love than she wanted to give at the moment.






After surveying the trees to cut, we realized we would appreciate a pre-cut one on the farm provided. We are glad we chose this tree. (It even came with its own glow...who needs a star.) We have never picked up a tree this early (the weekend after Thanksgiving). Then we didn't take it down until a few days into January. It is still on our back porch waiting to be recycled.


We picked our tree and enjoyed more of the things offered at the tree farm: Hay pile,

Daddy tied the tree on and off we went for some yummy Salado BBQ. We enjoyed our meal and put up our tree before David headed out of town Sunday for interviews in Phoenix. The children (mostly Taylin) enjoyed learning about the significance of a tree. Taylin would often mention why we have a bow on top of our tree as Christmas' greatest gift is The Savior.
